01
The assembly, not just the finish
Observation, independent design and construction are different scopes. Access, excavation, temporary support, soil-related investigations and interfaces with the occupied building can drive variation. A crack alone does not establish a repair method or price. Compare proposals only after the intended intervention and design responsibilities are explicit.

Ownership and maintenance
Include post-work records, restoration of disturbed drainage and access for future observation where specified. Ask who handles interior finishes affected by structural work. A method label or per-pier count cannot replace a defined designed scope and concealed-condition boundary.
03
What the proposal must include
Quote evaluation/design separately from mobilization, temporary works, excavation, designed foundation/structural work, inspections coordination, disposal and finish restoration. Identify geotechnical or engineering services provided by independent professionals. No specialist method or engineering credential is represented as a KB capability here.
04
Resolve before procurement
Clarify whether the purpose is repair, retrofit, replacement or new construction before entering a direct allowance. Link to the existing foundation guides for technical intent, and ask City/County about the required plans and inspections. No per-pier price, guarantee or universal timeline is given.
