01
The assembly, not just the finish
Lime and marble-based decorative coatings can produce satin, layered or polished effects depending on aggregate, application and finishing. CAP Arreghini’s cited Marmorino Veneziano sheet describes one lime/marble product, not every product sold under either name. Vapor diffusion does not establish waterproofing; a decorative surface should not replace a shower assembly.

Ownership and maintenance
Ask how cleaning, spot repair and reapplication affect color and sheen. Hand-worked variation may be desirable but needs an agreed sample. Grazing light can reveal substrate unevenness that a small chip conceals. Protective coatings, if specified, can change appearance and care requirements.
03
What the proposal must include
Price substrate preparation, primer/base system, application stages, sample approval, protection, corners and repair access. Separate an approved mock-up from production work. Define whether the scope includes removing old coatings and repairing cracks, rather than quoting only the visible top layer.
04
Resolve before procurement
Choose sheen and acceptable variation before broad application. Resolve direct-water exposure and substrate compatibility using the exact product documentation. Keep the approved sample through handover so future repairs have a reference.
