01 / PLANNING NOTES
Sequence decisions before dates.
Start with goals and records, then identify the design team, define scope, resolve review questions and compare written proposals. Procurement should follow coordinated selections, not a promise of speed. A submitted application, design approval and permission to build are different milestones; record the actual dependency for each next step.
- Who can resolve the next unknown, and what document will show the answer?
- Are commissioning, inspection records and handover documents included?
02 / PLANNING NOTES
Coordinate energy and systems with the envelope.
Ask the design team which applicable Energy Code requirements affect the actual permit scope. Windows, roof assemblies, HVAC, electrical planning and water heating should be coordinated before rough work or product ordering. Use the Commission’s current standards resources rather than treating a material label as compliance.
- Which compliance documents and product specifications will accompany the drawings?
